Class Changes
Our goal at Herriman High School is to provide a rich academic environment that meets the needs of all students. We focus on preparing our students for the challenges of life after high school. This means preparing our students to face adversity and equipping them with the skills to adjust to a variety of professors or employers. Our students will gain much from textbooks, lectures, projects and assignments, However, the educational process includes far more than that; students also gain valuable insight and maturity from interacting with different people and adjusting to a variety of teachers.
- Class changes will only be allowed during the first 2 A days and 2 B days of the semester. This timeframe provides adequate time for a student to know if the class in question will be agreeable.
- No elective class changes will be handled through the Counseling Center, but will instead be completed at the time of Arena Scheduling.
- Personality conflicts may not be used as justification for changing a class. All conflicts need to be
resolved in a mature manner. Parents and students must meet with the teacher and work together to resolve the problem.
- During Arena Scheduling, students are given the opportunity to make choices of teachers and class times. Therefore, students will not be permitted to change from eacher to teacher in the same subject area, once the semester is under way.

- If a class change is approved for administrative reasons, class change forms must be filled out and, signatures in place before the class change is completed. All work missed in the new class is required to be made up. It is not excused because a change was made.
- A class change will only be considered if there is room in the class being requested. Do not ask a
teacher, counselor, or administrator to overload a class.
