9-26-12 Minutes

Present: James Birch, Teri Timpson, Lori Hendry, KayCee Brugger, Kathy Turner, Darlene James, Jason and Kelly Jarvis, Russ and Debra Scadden, Angela Barker, Jason Mecham and Heather Thomas, Berretta Smith, Dawsuwan Kesler.

1. Welcome …………………………………………………………………….. Mr. Birch
1. C.C. Power point was again made available through email to those who had not had a chance  to watch.
2. Introductions
3. Elect a Chairperson ………………………………………………….….. Mr. Birch
1. Dawsuwan Kesler was unanimously elected as Chairperson for the 2012-13 school year.
4. Report on School Progress ……………………………………….….. Mr. Birch
1. AP and Concurrent
2. Mrs. Hendry our newest counselor introduced herself Mr. Birch excused Mrs. Evans and indicated that the admin. At Herriman had grown by one Assistant Principal.
3. Mr. Birch  indicated that this years growth had placed the school at 2200, students and that next year 2500 were expected.
5. Counselor Presentation ……………………………….…………… Mrs. Hendry
1. Mrs. Hendry spoke concerning the current goals and programs in the counseling center.
6. Land Trust Update ……………………………………………….…… Mrs. Evans
1. Mr. Birch explained the land trust process and the programs that had been approved by our last years C. C.
7. Dance dress code issues ……………………………………………. Mr. Birch
1. Mr. Birch asked for input on dress code issues for extra curricular events such as dances.
8. Concerns from Council
1. Mrs. Brugger the Herriman High Drama teacher presented the plays she would like to present for this coming school year. They were approved and signed off by the C. C.
9. Dates for our next three meetings.
1. November 14th, 2012
2. February 20th, 2013
3. May 8th, 2013
