Mr. Brent Hawkins

Mr. Hawkins has enjoyed his marriage to his awesome wife Tonya since 1992.  They have two beautiful daughters.  Brenna (25), who blessed them with their granddaughter Haven (5), and Torrie (23).  Mr. Hawkins was born in Billings, Montana but moved at age 5 to Utah and grew up in Sandy, Utah.  He graduated from Jordan High School and went on to get his Bachelors and Masters degrees.  His passion for football led him to pursue teaching and coaching due to the example he had from his high school coach and outstanding teacher, Rick Bojak.  Since then he has taken great pride in being associated with great educators and coaches throughout his teaching career.  It's definitely his honor to serve as a teacher and a coach.
 

Spending time with and spoiling my granddaughter Haven, Spontaneous road trips with my wife Tonya and any road trips, watching movies and binging on comedy, action, and thriller series, annual NFL game with my old coaching buddies, driving aimlessly and listening to music that is turned up loud, reviewing Cantonese, Jogging and Weight Training.  Member of the following associations:  UEA, JEA, NEA, UDTSEA, NDTSEA, UFCA

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 25 years of teaching experience in the subject areas of Mathematics, P. E., Weights, Careers, A.C.T. Prep, and At-Risk.  Certified Drivers Education instructor.  E.S.L. endorsed. 
  • Twenty-Seven years of football coaching experience at the 5A/6A levels.  Four years as the Head Coach at West Jordan High School and Riverton High School.  Served as the Defensive Coordinator for twenty-one years at the varsity level of play.  Experience coaching at three different High Schools in Granite and Jordan School Districts. 
  • Assistant coach in basketball, wrestling, and track & field and as the Head Track & Field Coach for 5 years at Riverton High School.
