Mrs. Erica Plummer
Mrs. Erica Plummer teaches Creative Writing & is the Literary Magazine advisor. Her students have won national writing awards and have been published in literary magazines across the country. She teaches American Literature and, with her students, investigates the promise of the American Dream.
Mrs. Plummer spends her free time in Utah’s red rock country where every summer she parks a “van down by the river” and lives a life away from paved roads, temperature control, or societal expectations. She mountain bikes, hikes, cooks over a campfire, and swims in the river. When she misses home too much, she heads back to Daybreak where she lives with her husband and four children. By day, her husband is a Vice President of some company or another, but by night, he makes maps for Dungeons & Dragons players. Together, they have pretty cool children (all of whom graduated from Herriman High School). Their oldest daughter has lived as an American Ambassador in Germany. A son works in finance and is majoring in computer science. The other son is a math researcher in Georgia and is applying to Math Ph.D. programs (Thank you Herriman math teachers!) Their youngest daughter is majoring in film, which means that because of her the family watches a lot of strange, gorgeous, and awkward movies. Each spring, a pair of ducks return to their house. Mrs. Plummer has a spoiled poodle who likes to eat string cheese.
