PreACT for Sophomores

 
 

Sophomore students have the option of taking the PreACT:


The PreACT will be offered free of charge to all Sophomore students on Wednesday, November 12 at 7:30 AM. Junior and Senior students will have no school. JATC will have no classes.


Alphabetical rosters of Sophomore students with their assigned testing room will be posted in the hall by the Attendance Office/Counseling Center by November 7th.

 

On test day, students should report to their assigned testing room by 7:30 a.m. Students that arrive late will not be permitted to take the PreACT.

 

Students must bring a picture ID for check in and FULLY CHARGE JSD Chromebook to take the test. A calculator may be used to take the math portion of the test but is not required (please refer to ACT’s Calculator Policy for a list of prohibited calculators). Students are encouraged to leave cell phones at home as they are NOT permitted during testing time.


PreACT Testing Schedule:

Students that ride the bus will be picked up and dropped off at regular bus stops and routes.

 

7:00 am – 7:25 am: Students arrive at school

7:30 am – 10:30 am: PreACT testing for 10th grade students

10:30 am – 11:00 am:  Lunch

11:10 am: Students excused to go home/Buses leave

Every Utah public high school student (9-12 grade) has free and secure access to Shmoop’s ACT Test Prep. Shmoop offers seven full-length practice exams, over 1,000 practice questions and 200 ACT-specific math problem sets.
