Mr. Troy Ball

Mr. Troy Ball has been teaching in Utah public schools for the last 20 years and he couldn't imagine doing anything else. This is his tenth year at Herriman High School where he has taught world history, US history, and philosophy. He is hoping to teach another 20 years!

Mr. Ball was born and raised right here in the Salt Lake valley and graduated from Kearns High School. That is where he also met his wife, Brenda, and they have been together for over 30 years, including the time they dated in high school.  They have four wonderful children, three daughters and a son.

After high school he served in the United States Navy as a hospital corpsman and served as a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Zurich, Switzerland. Mr. Ball has been fortunate through his grandfather, navy experiences, and missionary work to have traveled to and learn about many places around the world. Such experiences have developed a strong love of history and culture that he is passionate about sharing with others.

Mr. Ball earned a bachelor degrees in both English and History from the University of Utah. He also completed a master's degree in Educational Leadership and Policy.

When Mr. Ball is not teaching, he enjoys spending time with his family, eating good food, watching horror movies, reading books on religion and philosophy, and playing his all time favorite video game, 7 Days to Die!  When he eventually gets to the point to retire, he and his wife would love to live on the Oregon coast.
